Update.

Dear followers/new visitors/stumble-upon-my-blog’ers,

Not much has changed with my jaw. I’ve been beyond stressed lately and every now and then will find myself in excruciating jaw pain. I’m confident it’s muscle related and not joint related. After my appointment with Dr. Mac a month ago he said all that was left to do was esthetic things including re-shaping of some of my teeth.

Mind you these are all things that will cost a lot of $$$ so they may have to wait. There is talk of doing some gum-reduction (yum) and some veneers. I told the doctors that frankly, celebrities can keep their wide, blinding white veneers. Im fine with my teeth like this. I don’t need my mouth to look extravagant. It’s a mouth….

Anywhos, apart from that I am still taking all my vitamins (all thirteen of them) again, yum. I’m still on the piroxicam that is an anti inflammatory but might as well be candy as I swear it does nothing. I emailed Dr.Mac telling him about flights to New York City for 45 dollars and asked him, and I quote “Do you see any upcoming appointments with me in the next weeks because these plane tickets are really cheap.”

No answer.

I guess I’ll stick to paying 300 plus dollars for those wonderful last minute flights.

Apart from working and not biting into anything super hard I’ve been doing a whole lot of this:

  1. Ashley,

We have been told that the muscle pain my daughter is experiencing has to do with the way her jaw is currently set. My daughter has been living in pain ever since a doctor did some kind of splint therapy for her, then said it was time to remove the top one.

She has resorbing condyle, which sounds different from your issue.

We have been told that the way your teeth fit together has everything to do with the signals it sends to your muscles, etc. It strikes me that this started after your braces came off. Like my daughter, your jaw may have gotten dependent on the positioning provided by the hardware.

Julia is still pre-op with Dr. Arnett. But we’ve been told she will probably have to have invisaline or some other holding device in her mouth indefinately.

Do you think you are grinding at night?

  2. Ashley, Listen to me…… Call Dr. M.’s office and keep calling until you talk to someone and get an appt. . You’ve come to far and been through to much to be passive now.
They are crazy talking about veneers . You are young and your teeth are beautiful.
I would try some alternative things like acupuncture and maybe craniotomy sacral therapy too.

    1. I agree with you. Honestly, if veneers may be what is necessary IM going to either Mexico or India to get it done. I am not spending anymore money. Im done with that part. Im going to write a new post on my update tonight!
